The Off The Wall Theater |
|
This is the center isle
of our eight seat home theater. The screen is painted on the wall and is nine feet wide. The projector is a Panasonic AE2000 fed by a high def DirecTV tuner and a high def DVD player. Seven Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 speakers and two 15 inch Velodyne sub woofers make the 7.1 surround sound system ROCK! The Berkline 090 Cinema chairs are very comfy. The decor is Taos Southwest. The receiver / proccessor is a Yamaha RX-V3800 with 140 watts per channel. Oh yea, Halo 3 on the Xbox 360 is life threatening on this system! The snack bar is in the back with an espresso machine, refrigerator and microwave. The final product is a 21 foot by 15 foot dedicated home theater used for movies, sports, music and games. Constuction pictures This is the area where the theater will be built. Notice the step down for the front row seating. The theater walls are staggered 2X4's on a 2X6 base for sound insulation. The theater front wall has spiral poles on each side and an arch over the screen. The low voltage wiring
took me seven and a half days to complete. The theater is well insulated. Note the open area on the lower right for access to the back of the electronics. You can almost hear the light-sabers buzz. The back cabinets in the theater. Note the black cloth door where the back sub woofer will reside. The little refrigerator is temporary - a larger one with stainless steel front will go in the space to the left. |
